Poem: Odes to Prospect Development

Dear Diary,

For 2024’s poem, I decided to create odes - lyrical poems that praise a person, place, and/or thing, in this case specific to prospect development. Deriving from the name, and based on historic times, odes are designed to be sung and accompanied by music, a dedication to and for a subject that brings harmony.

She inquired one day.

Did you see its columns?

She calmly said.

With its rows so long and totals so high –

There was not enough time to cry.

There was enough time to feel the thrill.

Not an Ask!

It was a whisper, oh no!

It was a cryptic email, oh dear!

A note with the smallest handwriting.

The desired message - a missing attempt for opportunity’s sake.

Only a chance for next time, next time we will be bold! 

Dear Researcher

You deserve a bouquet of peonies,

Lightly colored for your passion.

You deserve a golden cup, filled with flavors

For your witty mind.

Devour the treats to quench your curious appetite.

Enjoy only the best, you gem of a resource.
