Poem: Threading Through Loops in Prospect Development
Dear Diary,
It’s time for another poem, something to wrap up the year. For 2023, I have written three Acrostic poems that highlight certain themes and threads of prospect development that seamlessly connect different aspects and offerings. An acrostic poem is a type of poetry where the first, last or other letters in a line spell out a particular word or phrase.
Make sure to check out other additions in this poetry series.
Enjoy!

Collecting, synthesizing, sleuthing,
Only the verbs that resonate with the
Nearest prospect researcher’s heart,
Testing their patience when there isn’t
Enough information and time to
X-ray and dissect information.
To truly understand a prospect researcher is to know how they process and provide information.
~ Context
Occasionally, there are prospects that are overlooked, these are
People who may not give the largest gifts,
People who may not look like the wealthy citizens commonly displayed in media. Instead, these are
Ordinary people, sometimes retired teachers and veterinarians
Ready to make an investment in their community.
These are the prospects that reflect your mission and values, and
Understand what it means to move the needle, one action at a time.
Not many understand how important these people are,
Individually they seem ordinary, as a collective,
They’re the true changemakers that inspire everyone close to them.
You may want to ask your nearest prospect researcher to add them to your portfolio.
~ Opportunity
Regardless of the pressures to make conclusions, prospect researchers know the need for evidence.
And evidence is always based on quantifiable hard assets and soft assets.
Never mind the assumptions of wealth and the whispers of large gifts to a local museum or club,
Guess who needs to see the visible and public data?
Every prospect researcher that wants to give an educated estimation of giving.

Until next time, January 15th!
