Seasonal limericks for nonprofit professionals
Dear Diary,
The tradition of seasonal poems continues this year with Limericks, a form of verse that has underlined humor and follows the scheme (AABBA). Below are my limericks related to fundraising and prospect research that I hope you all enjoy and share with friends and colleagues in the field. Also, comment below with your own limericks.
A nonprofit office
“The checks are coming, the gifts are near,”
Screams everyone, as the database administrator sheds a tear.
“It’s the end of the year - we have to close gifts and show our donors love – it is time to thrive,”
Gasps the gift officers as the hour strikes five.
“Can someone make a new pot of coffee?” they all say in fear.
The hopes of a prospect researcher
We are pulling lists and strategically checking them twice.
Major gifts tend to come in at the end of the year, but it’s like rolling dice.
So, we prospect for new names and compile lists in preparation of the new year,
With any luck this proactive kick will make us more aware…
Anyway, time to figure out real estate ownership, and purchasing price.
Happy Holidays!
Until next time, January 15th!
